Matthew 24:6-12 (New King James Version)
And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass... And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places… many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another… And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

PASTOR’S COMMENTARY

It is essential that believers in Christ Jesus interpret the world’s events through the eyes of the Scriptures. Without a biblical view, we will allow our concern to turn into panic.

These selected excerpts from God’s Word for today let us know that the things happening around the world were foretold. The killings, division, hatred, and even the pandemic are the results of fallen humanity. Our calling as Christians is to continue to be a light in a dark society.

Jesus spoke to his disciples shortly before His death, telling them what to expect in the future. Our LORD advised them not to get stressed out when what He told them came to pass. He assured them that these things must come.

Having this mindset should change our prayer life. Instead of saying, “What in the world is going on?” We can rest in the peace of our all-knowing God. Having this biblical outlook will ease our troubled minds.
