Psalm 31:23 (New King James Version)
Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, And fully repays the proud person.

PASTOR’S COMMENTARY

As King David took inventory of his life, he saw that he had faced many difficult days. But he also saw where God had delivered him out of all his afflictions. So, David writes Psalm 31 as words of wisdom for all who would face a similar fate.

The wise king exhorted the afflicted to love the LORD because He would protect them from evil. David explained that he learned this truth as he committed his life into the hands of the Lord when he was confronted by his enemies.

We can learn from God’s Word for today that to love the LORD is the key to being preserved when the storms of life come. Sometimes these storms are man-made. Other times, it may be mental depression, or it may be spiritual warfare.

But whatever battle that is waging war against us, the more we love God, the more we can be assured that He will fully repay our enemies. Our love and devotion to God will lead to our restoration, revival, and a renewed mindset. The hotter the fire, the purer the gold.
