2 Samuel 22:31 (New King James Version)
As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him.

PASTOR’S COMMENTARY

There are many things individuals place their trust in. But more often than not, people disappoint us, and situations can change in a moment.

Speaking from experience, King David gave his assessment of the uselessness of trusting in man. His oldest brother Eliab had publicly scolded him when he stood up for God. King Saul tried to kill him after David saved the nation. And his favorite son, Absalom, undermined his father’s authority and plotted to kill him and take the kingdom from him.

David learned a truth that every believer needs to discover. Our hope should not be in man but in God, who can be trusted. His ways are perfect, and His Word has been proven.

During this week, much has been said through the news media. Some were good news, but most were not. Some were credible, but others may not have been. It is difficult to know what to believe. But this morning, God’s Word will be proclaimed during our virtual Livestream service. It is a spiritual good news report that you can trust.
