Psalm 108:1 NASB (New American Standard Bible)
My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing, I will sing praises, even with my soul.
This is a song of triumph by King David in praise of the LORD’s loyal love and protection. He expressed with the full expectation that all his adversaries would be destroyed.
David sang this song while he was yet in the middle of being chased down by his enemies. But despite his bleak situation, King David willed himself to praise the LORD anyhow. This switched his focus from fearing his foes to exalting the Guardian of his soul. David was convinced that praising God was the greatest weapon he had.
God’s Word for today encourages us to do more praising than complaining. When we praise the LORD with all of our soul, it changes our perspective. We learn the true meaning of trust and cease to put our confidence in unreliable sources. So, it doesn’t matter what it looks like; He is still working!
