2 Corinthians 5:14 CSB (Christian Standard Bible)
For the love of Christ compels us, since we have reached this conclusion, that one died for all, and therefore all died.
In God’s Word for today, the Apostle Paul defends his ministry of preaching the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Greek word translated as “compel” has multiple applications. It is also rendered as “control” and “constrain.” The word has the idea of being seized by a powerful force.
This is the work of the Holy Spirit, motivated by the love we have for Jesus. Knowing that Jesus went through so much to save us, should compel us to share the gospel. This thought is conveyed in the saying, “said I wasn’t going to tell nobody, but I couldn’t keep it to myself.”
So, if you confess that you love the LORD, go tell somebody about Him.
