2 Chronicles 20:9 (NKJV)
9 ‘If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.’

PASTOR’S COMMENTARY

A pandemic can be defined as a worldwide pestilence, which is a fatal epidemic disease. There have been several throughout history. At the top of this list is the bubonic plague that killed over two-hundred million people. Others include smallpox, yellow fever, scarlet fever, typhoid, diphtheria, syphilis, and, most recently, AIDS.

In each case, God was merciful and allowed mankind to discover a remedy or vaccine. Since His mercy endures forever, I am hopeful He will do the same in the future for COVID 19.

However, when this happens, we need to be mindful that it was not technology, not scientists or physicians, but it was God who heard and answered our prayers.

I believe that one day we will be physically hugging again without wearing masks or social distancing restrictions. My prayer is that every time we hug, we will be grateful, and give thanks to our LORD for something we just took for granted.
