If you read my blog last month, you may remember it was called "Looking Back." I was reflecting on 25 years as pastor of the New Piney Grove Baptist Church. The church has graciously decided to honor me with several special events and for that I am thankful.
But I want to now begin to look forward.
We are living in perilous times, especially for the church. Jesus said that His followers would encounter many difficult days as His return drew closer. One Scripture comes to mind for me when I think about my ministry:
"I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work." (John 9:4, NKJV).
My prayer is that God will allow me to serve Him with zeal and vigor for the balance of the time I have left, and that He will enhance my gift as Pastor-Teacher of the New Piney Grove Church. I solicit all who read this to continue to pray that the LORD's will be done in my life.
