No Time For God?
King Solomon, in his wisdom, wrote that there is a time for every season under the sun (Ecclesiastes 3:1). He gives a list of things or events that take place in our lives. However, Solomon never mentions a time for God, prayer or worship. As I reflect on why, it occurred to me that Solomon understood that God, prayer and worship are beyond the limits of time. Yet, as a pastor, I am concerned that many people have no time for God! The time for God is when we need Him. Church attendance is down all over our nation. This follows the all-time high on September 11, 2001 (9/11). Time on this earth will one day end; we will transition into eternity. This will be a glorious, wonderful period. However, what would we say if the Master asked us, “how did you spend the time I gave you on earth?”
