Psalm 37:4 ESV (English Standard Version)
Delight yourself in the LORD, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
In our human nature, we will desire many things during our lifetime, some good, some bad. The Hebrew word doesn’t refer to cravings; it has the sense of a request for what is needed. In a spiritual sense, it is a heartfelt prayer for something beyond our control to provide for ourselves.
In some instances, it could be a plea for blessings that we are not entitled to. In God’s Word for today, King David sings of a virtue that moves God to act on our behalf – delight. The word has several applications, but one is to take pleasure and enjoyment in seeking a closer relationship with the One who can fulfill our unentitled desires.
This morning at 10:00 AM, it will be my pleasure to minister to the church family, friends, and visitors as we examine the subject of “entitled.” It is my heart’s desire that you hear God in the message.
