Psalm 118:24 NKJV (New King James Version)

This is the day the LORD has made; We will rejoice and be glad in it.

Pastor's Commentary

Today is a national holiday observed by many, in many different ways. Most will gather with family and enjoy a time of sharing memories and a meal. However, it is only one day out of the year. Tomorrow, Saturday, and Sunday will be travel days for those visiting others. Their experience may not be one of rejoicing and gladness. Instead, it may be a day of anger, frustration, and disappointment.

But it is still a day that the LORD has made regardless of the difficulties we may encounter. He has provided another opportunity for us to enjoy the gifts of grace and mercy, which are not limited by time or circumstance. They are renewed morning by morning. So, we can still rejoice and be glad.

So, enjoy this day that the LORD has provided. May the LORD’s peace rest upon you and you sense His presence. My family and I are grateful for you and yours on this day of Thanksgiving. So, let us rejoice and be glad.
