Mark 10:15 NIV (New International Version)

Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.”

Pastor's Commentary

There are many things special about little children. One is the lessons they can teach us. For instance, we can often see ourselves in them because they naturally mimic what they hear and see us do. But perhaps the one Jesus alluded to is the most important.

Little children are naturally dependent upon their parents for survival. They are incapable of getting jobs, working, and cooking. But they do not concern themselves with such things because they trust that their parent or guardian will provide.

This confidence allows them the freedom to play and enjoy life until they are able to do for themselves. When they grow up, their responsibilities begin to shift. There is a training period of transition from dependency to independence.

This morning is Youth Sunday, and the 10 AM message will address this transition. You are encouraged to come and join us in worship. It will be my sincere honor to minister the Word of God to the members, friends, and visitors of NPG.
