Psalm 132:13–14 ESV (English Standard Version)

For the LORD has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His dwelling place: “This is my resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.

Pastor's Commentary

The opportunity to rest is a blessing. The Hebrew word has the idea of relaxing from tiredness, which results in being content and satisfied. And while our Sabbatical provided needed rest, it does not lead to a permanent resting place. As we return to ministry, at some point down the road we will get tired again.

But Jesus promised to provide us an eternal dwelling place with Him after our earthly labor is over. So, no matter the sleepless nights and the toils we face daily. We can look forward to a time of permanent Sabbatical.
