Haggai 2:5 ESV (English Standard Version)
according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not
The phrase “out of Egypt” is recorded 76 times in the King James Version of the Bible. It was a term that Jehovah, the God of Israel, used to remind His people of their deliverance from bondage. They were also words to confirm that God keeps His covenant promises to His people.
The prophet Haggai was used by God to encourage His people to continue to build the Temple, His House. Even though the work was hard and dangerous, with opposition from outsiders, God promised to be among His people. Therefore, they should not fear failure.
God's Word for today is a call to courage in the midst of difficulties. The Creator of the universe and the Spirit of the living God are in our midst. Therefore, we can move forward in the restoration of God's House with confidence.
