Genesis 2:2-3 (KJV)
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
After six days of creation, the God of the universe rested. That is, He stopped working, not because He was tired, but to establish for us a pattern.
The 7th day was established as a day of rest. It was called the Sabbath and gave rise to those whose lives are committed to ministry, "Sabbatical." It is a period to "stop working", in order for the mind, soul and body to be rejuvenated, refreshed and restored.
I will be on Sabbatical this month. See you in April.
