You Never Know
I was pleasantly surprised to discover someone actually reads the NPGBC Pastor's Blog. What made my discovery more pleasing was that it was my baby granddaughter in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. When she mentioned it to my wife, it got me to thinking. I need to exercise care and caution when I post what I write, because you never know who will read it.
When out and about, I have experienced several occasions where I encountered another person in public, who would say: "Hello Dr. Wilcoxson," or "Pastor Dave" or "Reverend Wilcoxson," and I didn't have a clue who they are. I have learned how important it is to be the same in public (or on social media), as I am at the church or in the pulpit, because you never know. While I may not know them, they may know me.
It makes me wonder. How many times has someone who knows me seen me in public, but they never spoke to me. Just imagine them telling their family and friends that they saw me at _______, doing _______. The blanks they fill in are not only reflective on me, but also on my LORD.
You Never Know!
